Join Pulp Fiction on Wonder Woman Day!

Making Comics Class
Saturday June 3rd from 12PM – 3PM

The class runs for 12 weeks and costs $350. The class is open to writers and artists and runs for ten sessions. Writers learn the ins and outs of comic scriptwriting, visual storytelling, how to find and work with an artist, and much more. Artists learn sequential storytelling skills, page design, and best practices for drawing, inking, and completing comics pages. Artists work on and finish an eight to ten-page short comics story. Writers complete a 15-page script for a short complete story. Everyone learns together and from each other as well as from my instruction and examples. Warning: you may be forced to read good comics.

The class is taught by long-time comics editor and writer Jim Higgins. Jim is a former DC Comics editor, small publisher, screenwriter, freelance comics editor, and comics consultant.  He’s been teaching in art colleges for almost 20 years (The School of Visual Arts, CalArts, Otis College of Art and Design, UCLA Extension, and more).  Jim’s show, Crafting Comics with Jim Higgins, appears on Nerdist’s subscription-based online network Alpha (www.projectalpha.com).

For more info and to join, e-mail Jim at jim@newsuit.net.
