Pulp Fiction Newsletter Week of 9/9

Hey guys! This newsletter is pretty packed with things I’d like to direct your attention towards, beginning with a nice and full Upcoming Events section. We have a quite a few things on the horizon, some as soon as this week if you’re a Firefly fan! We’re also having a couple of sales including a toy sale. It’s never too early to think about holiday gift shopping!

We have a few deals of the week, including one that’s kind of special: in addition to the first issue of the new Atomic Robo arc, we are also making the first big Atomic Robo compendium collection (contains first 3 trades) half off for this week only! That’s a great deal for a book that is just a pure joy to read and I urge you to try it out if you haven’t already.

This week we also have the return of Bitch Planet! It sounds like Kelly Sue DeConnick has been busy making big moves in Tinsel Town and so we haven’t seen her wonderful women-in-prison/sci fi social satire in a while. I imagine the biggest new comic release for this week is going to be the new Star Wars title, Shattered Empire. This one is going to be particularly interesting because it takes place AFTER Return of the Jedi and bridges the gap between that movie and Force Awakens.  With Greg Rucka and Marco Checchetto behind the wheel, it’s sure to be a hit.

On the trade side, we have quite a few popular series getting collections including Chrononauts, Descender, Crossed Plus 100, and of course the newest collection of SAGA!! If you’re looking for something for the kids, they’ve reprinted the first volume of Polly and the Pirates by Ted Naifeh, creator of Courtney Crumrin!

Finally, we’ll be at Long Beach Comic Con this weekend, so swing by our booth and say hi if you’re heading down there! See you at the bottom…
